This role consists of Marquee set up’s & take down’s for weddings, festivals and events

Who We Are

Our canvas family consists of three companies: Posh Frocks and Wellies, Resonate Events and The Canvas Co. With a focus on temporary structures, we provide venues for wedding receptions, back garden cinemas, bars and boutique camping at British music festivals. 

Most of our work takes place during the summer as we provide luxury canvas marquees for weddings and private events across the North West and back garden tents for small parties

We are an ever-growing trio of businesses that are currently in search of four unique people who would love a lively and varied role that involves both driving and warehouse work. There will be the occasional night away as some events are a distance away from our base in Macclesfield.

Initially, all positions will be on temporary 6 month contracts, start mid April and ending mid sept but there is potential for the right person to stay on.

This role consists of setting up marquee's for weddings, working in our warehouse helping to clean and prepare kit, installing back garden setups at customers' houses, travelling to deliver kit to festivals and setting up at festivals also.

There will be lots of outdoor work and we need applicants to be physically fit and able and happy to work in all weathers and sometimes long hours.

Hours:

  • Flexible working hours

  • Can be up to 35 hrs a week until the end of October on PAYE

  • week & occasional weekend work

  • When working a weekend, days off are given during the week

  • Potential for overtime

  • Possibility to extend the contract and become a full time roll

  • Available for immediate start for the right candidates.

Required skills:

  • Must be physically fit & able

  • Experience driving LWB vans

  • Over 18 with a full UK driving license

  • Organised

  • Self driven

  • Good communication skills

  • happy talking to customers

Desirable Skills:

  • Basic carpentry / general DIY skills

  • Fork/Telehandler license would be a bonus but not necessary

  • Competent with Microsoft Excel and Word

  • Experience of working with weddings/festivals/events - not necessary but beneficial

  • Good decision making skills

The role in detail:

  • Marquee set up & take down for weddings, festivals and events

  • Setting up and taking down bell tents at weddings, festivals and events

  • Installs & derigs at customers' houses

  • picking, preparing & loading kit for events

  • driving to & from the event in van with kit & crew

  • unloading kit

  • erecting & taking down marquees

  • setting the internal and external space for the event

  • liasing with the site manager regarding the set up

  • taking down and clearing the space post event

  • cleaning, repairing and packing away kit post event

  • Deliveries/collections of kit for weddings and festivals

  • Keeping warehouse and kitchen areas tidy/clean
